How Long, or Short Should Your Article Body Be?
=========================
The body of your article should typically be no shorter than 300 words. Anything less will resemble a small review, blog post, or description. Article directories do not want small reviews. These types of articles typically aren't enough content to be properly displayed within the article template page.
A well written article should be anywhere from 500-1500 words. More than 800 words is a great content rich article, it gives visitors and search engines more content to display within their results. If you have an article that seems to keep going, and going, and going, try breaking up your article into multiple segments (Ex. step 1, step 2, step 3, etc).
Watch Out For Ghostwriters Who Don't Write All That Much:
Within the article marketing community, there are many "ghost writing" services that offer unique articles for their clients but simply write a paragraph or two and change up the content within article for every new client they acquire. Make sure to review every writing service you look into and to look at the companies written samples before hiring anyone. I would also recommend contacting one of their clients to view the articles written for them as well.

Should I Ever Use "Hard Breaks"?
=========================
ABSOLUTELY NOT! Hard breaks are a nuisance!
What Are Hard Breaks & What Are They Used For?
Hard breaks occur when you hit "ENTER" after about 60-65 characters per line. This method of writing is used for email newsletter publications. They do this because most email programs wrap each paragraph after about 60 characters anyway.
^ The Above Paragraph Is Using HARD BREAKS!
Editors world wide really hate articles with hard breaks. Most editors are required to manually remove all of the hard breaks within the article so that each paragraph runs smoothly witin their article template page. Articles with hard breaks could end up looking very bad within the article directory. Some directories simply delete articles that utilize hard breaks as a way to format their articles.
How Do I Remove The Hard Breaks?
Within a text editor, click your mouse at the end of the each line (to the right) and hit "DELETE" so that the line below moves up to accompany the line you are on. Do this over and over again until your entire article is complete. After your done, you will realize why editors hate to re-format articles that use hard breaks.

Should I Have Links Within My Article Body?
=========================
Web site links within your article body is definitely allowed. We recommend that you limit your active links to 1 within the body because there are so many stipulations to having links within the body.
1) If you submit articles with banned HTML properties such as:
< font >
< span >
< div >
You may loose any links within the body when our editors pull out your article and paste it into a notepad in order to remove any unwanted HTML from your article. When doing so, links that don't display their true URL (ex. "www.smartads.info", instead of just "Smartads") will be lost in the process. We do not edit your HTML code in order to retrieve the url destination before cutting and pasting your body within notepad. We would like to save each link an author recommends, but time is not on our side and it would take double the time required to review each article.
2) Don't Use Up All 3 Active Links Allowed Within The Body of Your Article:
Authors who find it necessary to add all 3 links within the body of their article have a higher risk of loosing all 3 active links. Again, this is because of the above explanation about what happens authors who submit articles with banned HTML within their article body.
3) What Is A Good Formula For Submitting Links Within The Body?
One active link that displays the true url (ex. http://www.smartads.info) and 2 others within the author resource box. Our editors are trained to try and save any active links within the author resource box, not within the article body.
If You Copy & Paste Your Article Directly From:
1) Your web site
2) Microsoft Word
You risk the chance of submitting banned HTML with your article, thus risking the chance of loosing those precious active links.
=========================
Should I Include Author Information Within The Body?
=========================
YES & NO!
This greatly depends on the type of article directory you submit to. Some article directories don't automatically add the authors name up top, and some article directories don't have a specific area for the author resource box. Article99.com has both features already implemented within our article template and so does many others online. A professional author must look through and know each author requirements from individual article directories online.
Should I Add Author Info If There's Already A Section For It?
No. An author resource box is a place dedicated for the authors information. For some reason, many authors feel the need to repeat all of their information within the article body. This step is not necessary for most article directories.
Just remember a good rule of thumb; if the article directory you submit to already has a designated place to submit certain information, then submit that information only once within the designated area.
In fact, the only thing you might want to consider adding within the article body is your copyright information at the very bottom.
