Portland, the City of the Roses, is a very friendly green city of temperate climate, surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and forests. For outdoor weddings the peak wedding season in Oregon happens between May and October. Many couples plan their wedding to coincide with major festivals and local celebrations such as the Portland Rose Festival or the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
